44Cup Calero Marinas, 22 – 26 November 2023, Porto Calero, Lanzarote, Spain | The 44Cup tour calendar takes us to Lanzarote as the venue for the last regatta in 2024. At the end of the year, the Canary Islands are a welcome location for an RC44 regatta, as the temperatures there are warmer than in the rest of Europe. At the same time, with a bit of luck, the famous trade winds blowing from the north-east provide great sailing conditions. Puerto Calero is a small town on the south-east side of Lanzarote, around 10 miles from Arrecife. The harbour was first built in the 1980s and has since attracted sailing enthusiasts from all over the world, and not just with its characteristic shiny brass mooring bollards. Calero Marinas offers its visitors everything they could wish for. Over the years, the hospitality of the Spanish islanders has been joined by many restaurants and bars around the harbour, making Calero Marinas a popular destination for tourists on the island. As always, the Cup organiser spoils the teams and all tour visitors with drinks and food at the docks, so there are plenty of opportunities for socialising around the event. Facing away from the North Atlantic, Calero Marinas is nestled in a bay and offers good conditions to ensure that as many of the scheduled races as possible can take place during the planned regatta week. After a change in the crew line-up and a promising 44Cup regatta in Alcaidesa by Gibraltar, we are looking forward to the final RC44 event, and not just because of the attractive location. With the 44Cup Calero Marinas, we hope for nothing less than to continue on our path to the top, to secure another place on the podium and to move up into the midfield in the annual ranking. You can find out first-hand whether we will succeed in doing so directly on the 44Cup Tour website via GPS tracker and live chats or via TracTrac.com or the TracTrac mobile app.
