Princess Sofia Regatta Palma 2025

Cape 31 Princess Sofia Regatta Palma, 28 – 30 March 2025, Palma, Mallorca, Spain |
After an extended but intensively used winter break, we are already on the final straight for the first regatta of the 2025 season. We will be competing in this regatta with our new Cape 31 yacht in Mallorca, where the well-organised Cape 31 class management invites us to the ‘Princess Sofia Regatta Palma’. This event is the perfect occasion for our official debut in this class, before the first round of the Cape 31 European Tour, the so-called C31 Med Circuit 2025, gets under way in Hyeres in France at the beginning of May.
Although we are still rookies in this class after a test event at the end of 2024, some of us are very familiar with Palma as a venue. In 2019, Black Star Sailing competed in the Copa del Rey MAPFRE with its GC32 team in the capital of Mallorca, and still has fond memories of it. Thanks to its ideal location, the historic port city has become a sailing mecca on the Balearic Islands, where countless regatta enthusiasts come together for some major events. While the RC44 events have not yet headed for Palma since we joined, we are all the more pleased that this well-organised yacht facility plays an important role in the Cape 31 class and will also be the venue for the C31 European Championship 2025, among other regattas.
We are looking forward to this event and are curious to see how our newly formed Cape 31 team performs in its first challenge.
