Auf der internationalen B\u00fchne steht die Olympiade an, wo Schweizer Seglerinnen und Segler mit guten Resultaten im Vorfeld Hofnungen gesch\u00fcrt haben, dass es endlich wieder einmal f\u00fcr eine olympische Medaille reichen k\u00f6nnte.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Ende August liegt dann die Aufmerksamkeit ganz beim America\u2019s Cup, wo das AlinghiTeam versuchen wird, sich als Herausforderer zu qualifzieren, um im Finale gegen Neuseeland im Oktober die Troph\u00e4e wieder in die Schweiz zu holen.<\/p><h3 class=\"p1\">Schweizer Saisonhighlight findet vor Brunnen statt<\/h3><p class=\"p1\">Aber auch in der Heimat wartet der Segelsport mit einem ganz speziellen Highlight auf: Ende August werden auf dem Urnersee die riesigen RC44 Racer ihre Weltmeisterschaft austragen. Die nach dem Klassengr\u00fcnder und viermaligen America\u2019sCup-Gewinner Russell Coutts (RC) benannten 13 Meter langen und fast 3 Meter breiten Rennmaschinen k\u00f6nnen bis zu 40 km\/h Geschwindigkeit generieren.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Erstmals wird die WM der RC44 Racer nicht auf dem Meer, sondern auf einem Binnensee ausgetragen. Der Z\u00fcrcher Christian Z\u00fcrrer \u2013 mit Wohnsitz in Sarnen \u2013 ist der Leader des Teams Black Star und machte sich daf\u00fcr stark, diesen Event in die Schweiz zu holen (der \u00abBote\u00bb berichtete). Die RC44 werden im Brunner F\u00f6hnhafen stationiert und k\u00f6nnen dort von den Zuschauern auch besichtigt werden. Auf dem Auslandschweizerplatz wird f\u00fcr die Besucher eine Leinwand aufgestellt. Die renommierte Schweizer Segelzeitschrift \u00abSkippers\u00bb beschreibt den Event als das Segel-Highlight der Schweiz in der kommenden Saison.<\/p><h3 class=\"p1\">Regattaverein Brunnen als aktiver Veranstalter<\/h3><p class=\"p1\">W\u00e4hrend der ersten Septemberwoche wird dann vor Brunnen eine weitere Weltmeisterschaft \u00fcber die B\u00fchne gehen, diejenige der Tempest-Jachten. Zw\u00f6lf Teams aus f\u00fcnf L\u00e4ndern sind bereits gemeldet, erwartet werden aber weit mehr. Die Tempest ist ein sportliches ZweiPersonen-Segelboot mit Kiel, Trapez und Spinnaker, das schnell ins Gleiten kommt. Die Klasse liegt Rolf Hunkeler, dem Pr\u00e4sidenten des Regattavereins Brunnen (RVB), am Herzen. Er hat selber jahrelang damit erfolgreich regattiert.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Der Regattaverein Brunnen wird dieses Jahr nicht nur die Tempest-Weltmeisterschaft durchf\u00fchren, er wird auch seinem Ruf als guter Organisator von Regatten mit seinem gewohnten Angebot weiterhin gerecht. Am RVB-Cup Mitte Juni sind mit dem Team Silvia (Corinne und Aldo Meyer) in der Onyx-Klasse sowie bei den StarBooten (Beat Heinz) auch eigene Seglerinnen und Segler dabei, die mit Ambitionen auf den Sieg an den Start gehen.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Wie \u00fcblich werden zwei Regatten im Rahmen des Vierwaldst\u00e4ttersee-Cups vom RVB ausgetragen, Ende Juni der Uristier-Cup und Ende August die Nachtregatta. Pascal Marty und seine Nessi-Crew haben hier gleich zwei Titel zu verteidigen. Sie holten letztes Jahr den Pokal als \u00abschnellste Jacht\u00bb und siegten in der Racer-Klasse 1.
