Regatta 3: GC32 Villasimius World Championship

GC32 Villasimius World Championship, Sardinia, Italy

The highlight of a GC32 Racing Tour may well be called the World Championship. This year it takes place at the southernmost point of Sardinia in Villasimius, and is thus the third GC32 World Championship in this form.
More teams are expected to join the existing lineup, which will give the event even more excitement. Among the participants of the events held so far, the gaps are as small as never before: On the water it is often only meters or a few seconds, and in the ranking ultimately only a few points that lie between the individual teams.
Accordingly, the starting position for the upcoming regatta is open. And the expectations of the Black Star Sailing Team for this important event are correspondingly high.

Villasimius was the venue of the opening regatta of the GC32 Racing Tour 2019 and thus the first regatta of the Black Star Sailing Team ever. This event is remembered especially because shortly after Easter the conditions were not very inviting. At that time, the teams struggled not only with strong winds and a rough sea, but also with freezing temperatures.
Accordingly, we are looking forward to the weekend in September with curiosity, as hopefully Sardinia will then show itself from a friendlier side.
We are also curious to see if we can continue our performance from the Lagos Cup II and if we can once again grab a place on the highly coveted podium.
