Cape 31 Med Circuit 2025 – Round 4: Imperia Regatta, 18 – 20 July 2025, Imperia, Italy

After the fresh breezes and long days in the far north at the RC44 Regatta in Marstrand, Black Star Sailing is now setting course for the south again. From 18 to 20 July, we will be visiting Imperia in Italy with our Cape 31 team – right in the heart of the Ligurian Riviera.

This traditional port city with its two old town centres, Porto Maurizio and Oneglia, combines Mediterranean serenity with maritime character. As a long-standing venue for international regattas, Imperia is no longer an insider tip among sailors: constant thermal winds, clear water and a perfectly equipped marina make this location the ideal setting for the next round of the Cape 31 Med Circuit.

Organised by the traditional Yacht Club Porto Maurizio, the regatta promises exciting races. Despite the mostly moderate wind conditions, tactical finesse, clean manoeuvres and quick reactions are particularly important on the Ligurian coast.

For the Cape 31 team from Black Star Sailing, Imperia is another test in an intense first season. After technically solid performances in Palma and Porquerolles, the aim now is to continue to pursue our place in the midfield and consolidate it as much as possible. A particular focus will be on optimising the crew composition: the line-up on board will be specifically improved with our young sailors – both in terms of performance in the races and in terms of the progress of the team as a whole and the individual outtakes.
