Cape 31 Med Circuit 2025 – Round 2: Porquerolles Regatta, May 28 – June 1, 2025, Porquerolles, France |

No sooner have the last lines been hauled in at the 44Cup Porto Cervo than the Cape 31 team from Black Star Sailing is off to the next regatta: from 28 May to 1 June, the second round of the C31 Med Circuit 2025 is on the agenda – this time in Porquerolles.

After our first appearance with the Cape 31 in Palma in the spring, where we gained valuable experience and were able to practise procedures and manoeuvres extensively in various setups, the next step now follows: our start in this year’s Cape 31 Med Circuit. As we decided not to take part in the ‘Hyères Regatta – C31 Med Circuit Round 1’ for purely logistical reasons, we are all the more delighted to be returning to Porquerolles, in the immediate vicinity of Hyères.

The largest of the Îles d’Hyères is known for its unspoilt nature, the typical charm of picturesque Mediterranean islands and, last but not least, for a sailing area that is high on the wish list of many teams. The small island off the Côte d’Azur has long been more than just an insider tip among sailors. Between the turquoise bays of the islands and the mainland, a challenging sailing area awaits us, with changing thermal winds and tactically tricky courses. It is exactly the right place to tackle the next stage of our Cape 31 campaign.

Porquerolles marks the start of the Cape 31 racing series for Black Star Sailing and is therefore also the first trial by fire for the newly formed team. After an initial test run in Palma, the task now is to refine settings, manoeuvres and procedures and get the most out of the boat and the team.

In close cooperation with the Cape 31 class association, this regatta is being organised by local partners to the highest standards – and it’s not just on land that the backdrop is impressive. On the water, we will be meeting teams that have long since made their mark in this class. But even though we are new to the scene, one thing is certain: we are determined to be right up there at the front.

We are looking forward to intense days on the water, exciting battles for position and the special spirit that characterises the Cape 31 class.
