The third stop in the 2024 44Cup race series once again takes us to idyllic Marstrand. The paradisiacal island off Sweden’s west coast offers perfect conditions. It is not without reason that Marstrand is one of the most important regatta destinations far and wide and is the most visited 44Cup venue ever. This year, 44Cup Marstrand falls on Midsommar and the regatta on 23 June is accompanied by the solstice festival. The almost endless days are complemented by mild conditions: In the Swedish midsummer, the conditions on the actual regatta area west of the island of Marstrand vary from fresh northerly winds to pleasantly warm winds.

Marstrand is a true experience and a great spectacle. Also for the people who watch. Depending on the wind, the finish lines can be positioned in the Marstrandfjord so that spectators have a great view of the action from the shore.

This is not the only reason why Black Star Sailing is looking forward to the upcoming event. In Baiona we were able to take another step forward on our way to the top and managed to place ourselves on the podium with victories in two races. Now, of course, we are eager to see if we can pull off another coup and make the right improvements.

After disassembly in Baiona, our racing yacht made its way to the Baltic Sea and will soon be under construction again in order to be ready for the first training sessions on the weekend of 16 June.
